What is a "Methodist Circuit"?
The Methodist Church in Great Britain is made up of hundreds of church congregations, throughout the country. At national level the church refers to itself as the Methodist Connexion, emphasising the networked nature of the church. There are administrative districts within the connexion, each of which comprises many circuits and in each circuit there will be many church clusters.
From 1st September, 2010 eight cicuits combined to create one of the largest circuits in the country. The enlarged circuit will be known as The Shropshire and Marches Circuit. Being so large it has been sensible to divide this circuit into three areas. North Area, Central Area and South Area.
Ludlow Church is in the South Area of The Shropshire and Marches Circuit and is clustered with the congregations of Blackford and Caynham Churches.
